What is the Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)?

The Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300) is designed for individuals outside Australia who are engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa allows you to enter Australia for the purpose of getting married within nine to fifteen months of arrival.

Once married, you can then apply for the onshore Partner Visa (subclasses 820 and 801) to remain in Australia permanently with your spouse. This visa is a key step for couples planning their future together in Australia.
